Voice

Alisa Sloan's warm mezzo soprano voice has been heard by hundreds of thousands, from opera fans to voice mail users. She has been a featured soloist in churches that span the United States, from the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California to prominent churches internationally. Her voice has stirred audiences at military celebrations and at numerous private events honoring former presidents of the United States and other dignitaries. After earning the bachelor of music degree from Oklahoma Baptist University she went on to study with Elena Nikolaidi at the Houston Opera Studio. Alisa has worked extensively as a studio musician and has been the "voice" for over 400 voice mail systems nationwide and she is heard periodically on area radio stations in commercial voice-overs. Alisa has performed leading roles in operas, musicals and other stage productions. She held a feature role in the made for television musical, Beloved Thief. In addition she has been the director for stage productions, arts camps and numerous ensembles and choirs. Alisa is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).

In 1987 Alisa and her husband, Glen, were founding directors of the Dunwoody School for the Arts. The Dunwoody School grew to a faculty of over 25 instructors and a student body exceeding 300. Almost twenty years later the Dunwoody School for the Arts is still training artists of all ages.

As president/artistic director at Medallion Alisa has produced several major productions, including "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," (2004) "Of Thee I Sing - A Patriotic Celebration" (2005 &2006), "A Broadway Showcase" (2005 & 2006), and "Smoke on the Mountain" (2006). These productions have been critically acclaimed while entertaining thousands of theatre enthusiasts in the North Georgia area.
