A six-week course designed for youth through adults, whether listeners or performers, who want to have a better understanding of the language of music:

• Unit One: The staff, notes, pitches, treble and bass clefs, the grand staff and ledger lines
• Unit Two: Note values, measures, bar lines, time signatures, whole/half/quarter rests
• Unit Three: More time signatures, dotted notes, ties and slurs
• Unit Four: Repeat sign, first and second endings, eighth notes and rests
• Unit Five: Dynamic signs, tempo marks, articulation, D.C., D.S., Coda and Fine
• Unit Six: Flats, sharps, naturals, key signatures, whole and half steps, enharmonic notes
